Book Lovers Challenge:
Exploring new novels that are out and your classmates love to read is often the way most readers choose books. A challenge for those who love to read is to pick a book that is considered a classic piece of literature. A classic can often times be thought of as a book that "stands the test of time". These books often inspire other great works of literature or film. Librarians often have a list of books that have come to be known as classics. Publishers have also started publishing books labled as classic literature. Below are some links to different sources that have compiled a list of what they consider to be a classic literature. Understanding classic literature can help you connect better to other works you will read in the future.

Exploring Your Book Even Further:
Word CloudsWith your novel, pull out common themes of the book, main characters, or anything else you think is important to the novel. Then go onto the following link and type each word individually (make sure to hit enter after each word). If you want words to stay together, butt they normally have a space between them, hyphenate the word. Everything that has a space on wordle will be separated. If you want a word to be very large then you should type it multiple times into the text area. If you want a word to be small only type it once. The size of the word should show the importance of this word to the character, or the novel. Change the font, layout, and color to match your novel and the words you have entered.
If you are going to print off the page, please do not put your word cloud against a black background. This background uses too much ink.
To print hit print screen, then past that copy of your desk top screen into a powerpoints slide and crop the image down to just the word cloud. Then print the powerpoint. This is also a way to save your word cloud image on your computer. http://www.wordle.net/create
